5 Work From Home Tips for Freelancers
Last night, we had a meeting to have a discussion for the next edition that we are launching in August. For that, we also invited some freelancers in the meeting to discuss some activities that we are going to do.
The thing that all our team noticed is that the freelancers were no to organized. One even didn't have the setup to come on a video call with all of us. Due to that reason he just turned off the video on Zoom meeting. We felt really awkward as it is their daily requirement to come online on video calls and still they don't have a proper setup.
As we don't have any physical team, so, most of our team works from home and we do have regular video calls to give some tips and discuss on further steps. We contacted each one of them and made them right one point each with the help of which they organize things.
Below are the points that each one of them shared with us and we are sharing it here for you all. Do use these tips in getting best results out of your freelancing journey. We are not the expert in this field but we can still assure you to help you in everything that is possible. We mostly focus on bringing in new tips and news for Businesses but we thought to help people those who help the businesses run.
1. Have a place to Sit: This place should have enough lighting so that you can come up online on video chats.
2. Be Ready With a Microphone: A microphone comes handy when you want to have a call ignoring the noise from the environment. It would save your life while having a meeting with overseas clients because they want everything perfect.
3. Focus on Presentation: Many of the freelancers forget to be presentable and just come online with whatever they are wearing. This is something not professional and should be avoided in the long run.
4. Keeping a language Flow: You can stick to a single language throughout your video sessions and this will allow to keep things on track. Don't forget to choose the language as per the client's preferences.
5. Letting Others Talk: The freelancers that we invited were not allowing ever senior managers to talk and share the details of the project. This created a lot of problems as the project was not explained effectively. Please let the senior or at least the clients explain things before you come down to explanations.
These tips might look simple but when seen live they might create a bad impression of you and your skills. Apart from having skills the skill to represent them is also needed. Thank you for reading the post till the end. You can share it with the people who would be needing it for working from home. We are also sharing some blogs that your friends would love to read:
We hope that you would find enough value in the blogs shared above. Don't worry if you are not able to follow all the tips, there is enough time for learning new skills.
